Children of Immigrants and Refugees: What the Research Tells Us

The Urban Institute’s 1999 National Survey of America’s Families (NSAF) reports that, compared with children in native-born families, children in immigrant families are generally poorer, in worse health, and more likely to experience food insecurity and crowded housing conditions.
