As Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation, Katrina coordinated the DCPS Becoming: Whole Child Development Initiative and applied a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) approach to evaluate and share lessons learned from the initiative. In addition, Katrina applies qualitative and quantitative methods to support various projects and programs for the Center.
Before joining the CHHCS team, Katrina came from the non-profit sector, where she supported community coalitions that were working to prevent and reduce youth substance use. She provided evaluation and research expertise to develop and execute coalition-specific evaluation plans for coalitions across the U.S. Additionally, she managed a coalition awards program and launched the first coalition distinction as a unique recognition for coalitions to achieve and promote continued interaction and support with community coalitions. She holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Promotion from New York Medical College and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech.
