As Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation, Katrina coordinates the DCPS Becoming: Whole Child Development Initiative and applies a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) approach to evaluate and share lessons learned from the initiative. In addition, Katrina provides evaluation support for the DC School Behavioral Health Community of Practice (DC CoP).
Before joining the CHHCS team, Katrina came from the non-profit sector, where she supported community coalitions that are working to prevent and reduce youth substance use. She provided evaluation and research expertise to develop and execute coalition-specific evaluation plans for coalitions across the U.S. Additionally, she managed a coalition awards program and launched the first coalition distinction as a unique recognition for coalitions to achieve and promote continued interaction and support with community coalitions. She holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Promotion from New York Medical College and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech.
